Bisset Adams are pleased to see our library refurbishment complete at The Institution of Mechanical Engineers. A delicate touch was required to modernise the function of the spaces whilst respecting and revealing the original splendour. Customer visits have increased massively since the opening!
Delighted to see our designs for the refurbishment of Selsdon Library in Croydon completed and open to the public. The library includes bespoke furniture that offers bookshop style displays combined with seating. The library is also trialling Open Plus technology which will enable extended opening hours for its customers.
This month saw the launch of the relocated SKODA showroom in Crawley. As with all SKODA sites, Bisset Adams were involved in the design, factory and retailer approvals. The retailer is delighted with their new showroom and is now moving forward with another SKODA site.
Our exciting project to build a new Conference Centre in Blackpool is progressing well on site. The venue will feature state of the art amenities to host modern conferences and exhibitions, including the latest audio and visual technology.
Bisset Adams’ first new-build Mazda and Volvo showrooms for Donald’s Group have just opened in Ipswich’s premium Futura Retail Park this summer. As brand guardians for Mazda and having first worked with Volvo cars in 1996 we were well placed to deliver state-of-the-art facilities for The Donalds Group.
Work is progressing well on site for our new build brand centre for Vauxhall in Croydon. The 6,530m2 state of the art facility will provide a car showroom, vehicle workshop & MOT, and valet facilities. Work is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of May.
Delighted that our first new-build Mazda and Volvo showroom for Donald’s Group has just started on site in Ipswich. The two buildings presented a rare opportunity for both brands to showcase their Corporate Identities in a new-build environment.
Bisset Adams has completed the restoration and improvements to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’s Keppel Street Library. The Grade II listed building has been restored to its original splendour by introducing Art Deco chandeliers to match the originals, restoring the coffers and the addition of a new lighting scheme. These enhancements not only conserve the library interior, but have restored the library in keeping with the original architect’s vision.
Bisset Adams head to Abu Dhabi to help the local Cultural Authority develop a new vision and concept design for their 2020 Libraries Development Programme.
We are excited to be announced as the RIBA Competition winners for the new Southmere Village Library. We are looking forward to working with Peabody and Bexley Council to realise our design.
We’re delighted to be on the shortlist for a new lakeside library within south-east London’s Thamesmead estate. The RIBA-run design competition is now seeking inspirational proposals for a ‘state-of-the-art’ facility overlooking Southmere Lake a short distance from the new Crossrail terminus at Abbey Road. Our design team are looking forward to meeting this exciting challenge.
A new home for Marylebone library opened its doors to the public this week. Situated on the busy Cavendish Street near high-end retail units, the new library occupies a space almost 1/3rd the size of its previous location. Innovative and bespoke design solutions were required to a successful space that meets the needs of the local community.
Bisset Adams have been appointed by Ballymore to provide innovative design solutions for the new community centre within the proposed Royal Wharf development complex. The new space will provide a range of facilities aimed at local residents including library, business touchdown and flexible activity spaces.
We had a great evening at the BCO Awards yesterday, even though Mazda UK HQ didn’t come first place. The night was excellent, congratulations to all the winners and submissions!
As a way of encouraging creativity outside of the office, Bisset Adams has started a monthly internal photography competition called Bisstagram. Each month colleagues are prompted to submit photos, as long as they were taken that month with their smartphone. At the end of the month the top three and commended photographs are revealed and displayed in a slideshow in our reception.
